St. Unholyness was born as the creative brainchild of Christina Earlymorn, who had grown weary of the repetitive patterns and rigid expectations of traditional black metal.Seeking a fresh artistic direction, she set out to form a new band that could seamlessly integrate the wide array of musical influences she had gathered over her many years as a dedicated guitarist.
The sonic foundation of St. Unholyness is built on powerful musical pillars that defy simple categorization. The band’s sound draws from the extreme intensity of Goatwhore, Vomitory, and Gorgoroth, but balances that aggression with the gritty, southern-fried grooves of ZZ-Top, Crowbar, and Black Label Society. By blending the technical thrash precision of Metallica and Megadeth with the raw, rhythmic power of Pantera and Entombed, the band creates a heavy, multi-layered identity all its own.
Beyond the music, Christina also made a conscious choice to break away from the standard metal dress code. This stems from a fundamental refusal to limit herself physically, aesthetically, or creatively to a scene that too often tries to set its rules in stone. This spirit of "rebellion" naturally creates a backlash among self-appointed gatekeepers who feel threatened by the unpredictable and lawless spirit of true rock and roll.
This duality is exactly why we chose the name St. Unholyness. We represent a "Saint" to those fellow travelers who also seek radical freedom of expression, yet we are considered "Unholy" by those who wish to suppress the individuality of others. We stand for personal liberty in all its forms unless you hurt others! With our chromed guitars the audience shall see their reflections and recognize their own greatness, because living and dying as a copy is a waste of time!
